Here’s your San Diego weekend guide. Enjoy these 10 activities to make your weekend awesome! 

  1. Celebrate fall with the Ocean Beach Oktoberfest all weekend. Activities, vendors, food and plenty of drinking await you!
  2. Exhibits. Opening this weekend: The Discovery of King Tut at San Diego Natural History Museum, This is How We Walk on the Moon at MCASD: Downtown, Rita McBride: Public Tilt at MCASD: Downtown, We Are Family at MOPA, and Collective Restraint at MOPA.
  3. Buy a masterpiece or two at the La Jolla Art and Wine Festival all weekend. Over 150 artists from San Diego and beyond will be in attendance.
  4. Check out some rides at the Santee Car and Bike Show. The Saturday event will include over 200 cars and trucks, along with food, music, and a beer garden.
  5. Bring the kids to the Doula Initiative Family Fall Festival on Saturday. Happening in Liberty Station, this kid-friendly event features entertainment, activities, food and crafts.
  6. Join the crowd for Parktoberfest on Saturday. South Park throws the best events and their version of Oktoberfest is no different.
  7. Hold a beer stein at the BraveCort Brew Festival on Saturday. This cool craft brew event (in La Jolla as part of the LJ Art and Wine Festival) features a beer stein holding contest!
  8. Party in Little Italy for the Little Italy FESTA on Sunday. It’s the 20th year of this shindig and there’s sure to be lots of entertainment, activities and festive spirit.
  9. Munch on some free donuts…for kids that is! In celebration of the new King Tut exhibit at the San Diego Natural History Museum, Donut Bar is giving away special themed donuts to kids between 8-9am on Saturday and Sunday. And check here later for our review of the exhibit!
  10. Watch some films at the San Diego Design Film Festival in Balboa Park. The all weekend festival has already started–the 9 films and 4 shorts will air throughout the next few days so check the schedule.
