Here’s your San Diego weekend guide for Labor Day Weekend. Enjoy a few of these 10 activities to make the weekend awesome!

  1. Admire some castles at the US Sand Sculpting Challenge all weekend. This cool annual event features awesome sand sculptures, activities and more.
  2. Exhibits. Closing this weekend: Real Pirates at San Diego Natural History Museum, Treasures of the Tamayo Museum at MCASD: Downtown, Tim Youd at MCASD: Downtown, Line Involvement at MCASD: Downtown and Destination Station at Reuben H. Fleet Science Center (closes Tuesday).
  3. Bring the family to the Festival of Sail all weekend. The Maritime Museum hosts the largest tall ship festival on the west coast.
  4. Root for some pups at the Del Mar Racetrack’s Wiener Dog Nationals on Saturday. Sixteen fast cuties are racing to get in the finals…oh yeah!
  5. Get cultured at the Barona Powwow all weekend. The 44th installment of this grand festival includes entertainment and activities.
  6. Eat up at the Bacon Fest on Saturday. Enjoy bacon of all different flavors and varieties at Liberty Station for International Bacon Day.
  7. Celebrate Labor Day! Barbecue with the fam or partake in the Oceanside Labor Day Pier Swim or Sunday’s Lafayette Pool Party.
  8. Watch some trains at the Train Festival all weekend at Rohr Park. And enjoy train rides, entertainment and food.
  9. Stroll through the 7th Annual ArtFest all weekend. Organized by the Carlsbad-Oceanside Art League, this Festival features cool art, artists, activities and more.
  10. Drink up for the Hop Heads & Dreads Craft Beer Festival on Sunday. This reggae and craft beer fest will be happening at Harrah’s Resort SoCal.
