10 Things To Do This Weekend in San Diego (5/24-5/25)

Turtles Love Strawberries! #strawberrylove

Here are 10 fun things to do in San Diego this weekend (May 24 and 25, 2014):

  1. Jazz it up at the San Diego Jazz Festival all weekend. There’s an amazing lineup of great jazz entertainers and it’s already started at Omni La Costa Resort!
  2. Exhibits. Opening this weekend: Wind Vessel at The New Children’s Museum, Seven at Mission Trails Regional Park, Aperture Remix at Museum of Photographic Arts, Summer Nights at Seaworld. Closing this weekend: Jarmo Makila at Lux Art Institute, Textile Art Without Machinery at University of San Diego, Function and Fantasy at Mingei International Museum, Catnip Connection 8 at Spanish Village Art Center.
  3. Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend! Here are some ideas from our Memorial Day blog post.
  4. Throw some boulders at the Reebox Crossfit Games all weekend in Del Mar. Ok, we have no clue about the boulder thing but if you want inspiration to live a strong and healthy life from some amazingly tough people, you should go watch the games!
  5. Ogle some cars at the American Heritage Car Show in Escondido on Saturday. And you have a lot to ogle…there’ll be over 200 cars.
  6. Root for the US at the International Surf Competition on Saturday at Del Mar Beach Resort. Red Bull is putting on this cool competition with the US Military Surf Team vs the British Army Surf Team.
  7. Eat some strawberries at the Vista Strawberry Festival on Sunday. Activities, contests, rides, music, food, drink and more await you.
  8. Get cultured at the Ethnic Food Fair on Sunday. This fun annual event by the International Cottages in Balboa Park is all about eating from the different cultures of the world. Count us in!
  9. Be merry at the San Diego Lebanese Festival all weekend in El Cajon. It’s the 11th year of this annual festival and will be full of food, performances and activities.
  10. Join a flashmob. Sunday is National Tap Dance Day and the San Diego Civic Dance Association is celebrating with a cool flashmob in Balboa Park. We love this!
