Here are 10 fun things to do in San Diego this weekend (March 22 and 23, 2014):

  1. Learn something scientific at the San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering this weekend. The cool festival concludes with its big Expo Day at Petco Park on Saturday.
  2. Exhibits. Opening this weekend: Jarmo Makila at Lux Art Institute, Tattoos & Scrimshaw: The Sailor Art at Maritime Museum of San Diego, Manss Aval at Spanish Village Art Center, Blooming Art in Bonita at Bonita Museum and Cultural Center andĀ Collectors in San Diego at Japanese Friendship Garden. Closing this weekend: Chicanitas at MCASD: Downtown and Contemporary Landscape Photography at Oceanside Museum of Art.
  3. Cheer on the teams duringĀ NCAA March Madness! Viejas Arena hosts some second and third round men’s basketball games and we think that’s just awesome.
  4. Pick up some healthy habits at the Healthy Living Festival all weekend. The Del Mar Fairgrounds will be full of vendors, speakers and fitness classes and all for free.
  5. Join the festivities at the Mission Beach Centennial Monument Dedication and Kickoff Event. The Saturday dedication and walk will be a great chance to get some fresh air, appreciate the history of Mission Beach and learn about all the cool events they have planned to celebrate the centennial this year.
  6. Join the community at the South Park Walkabout on Saturday night. Meet up with friends and mingle with new ones while exploring the shops and eateries.
  7. Enjoy the flowers at the San Diego County Orchid Society’s Spring Show and Sale all weekend. There will be judged orchids and orchids for sale and all at the Scottish Rite Center.
  8. Watch the films of the San Diego Latino Film Festival all weekend. The Festival ends on Sunday so make sure to fit in a flick or two before then!
  9. Get your geek on at Condor 2014 all weekend. Don’t know what Condor is? It’s the longest running science fiction and fantasy convention in San Diego. Duh.
  10. Score some finds at the San Diego Vintage Flea Market on Sunday at Birch North Park Theatre. So much to check out…get there early!
