Here are 10 fun things to do in San Diego this weekend (February 15, 16 and 17, 2014):

  1. Laugh it up at the San Diego Improv Festival. This cool event lasts all weekend long at the Finest City Improv near the Lafayette Hotel.
  2. Exhibits. Opening this weekend: Jean Wells: Icons of Desire at Oceanside Museum of Art and At the End of the Day at Space 4 Art. Closing this weekend: Matthew Hebert: Cover to Cover at La Jolla Athenaeum, Jeanne Dunn: Wild Walk at La Jolla Athenaeum, Women, War and Industry at San Diego Museum of Art (closes Tuesday) and 2 Artists at Borrego Art Institute.
  3. Celebrate the Kuumba Fest all weekend long. The annual festival celebrating African-American culture features EVERYTHING…don’t believe us? Check it out!
  4. Pick up some goods at the Little Italy Mercato on Saturday. Fresh veggies, crafty gifts, a juice, a crepe or two…
  5. Watch some cuties at the Bark-in-Balboa Park special concert at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion on Sunday. We love this annual event because it includes a pet parade!
  6. Bring the family to SEA Days at Birch Aquarium on Saturday. This month’s theme: whale sounds.
  7. Dance the day away at the International Dance Festival with the International Dance Association of San Diego County. Go to Balboa Park to learn and practice fun dances from around the world.
  8. Identify some fungi at the San Diego Mycological Society’s Fungus Fair on Sunday. Demos, different specimens and experts will be on hand in Balboa Park.
  9. Relax with music at the Chamber Music Festival Concert on Monday. This annual concert features some of the best participants from the past summer’s festival.
  10. Enjoy some beats at the 33rd Annual Tribute to the Reggae Legends at Valley View Casino on Monday. There’s a huge lineup of performers for this event.
