10 Things To Do This Weekend in San Diego (11/9-11/10)

Here are 10 fun things to do in San Diego this weekend (November 9 and 10, 2013):

  1. Walk around the San Diego Veg Festival in North Park on Saturday. This Festival looks awesome: make your own dog biscuits, sprouting 101 demos, vegan business start-ups, and mimosas. Have we made our point?
  2. Exhibits. Opening this weekend: Fallbrook Art Association’s Judged Show at Fallbrook Art Center, Scape/Escape: Stephen Curry at Oceanside Museum of Art, Contemporary Landscape Photography at Oceanside Museum of Art, Faiya Fredman at La Jolla Athenaeum and Emily Grenader at La Jolla Athenaeum. Closing this weekend: Mammoths and Mastodons: Titans of the Ice Age at San Diego Natural History Museum (ends Monday).
  3. Honor our veterans with Veterans Day activities! Check out our blog post for ideas.
  4. See some beautiful art at the Art San Diego 2013 all weekend. This Balboa Park event is a big deal, especially if you like contemporary art. Go for the art, the events and the people watching.
  5. Work it out at the National Fitness Awareness Expo. Another super cool event happening all weekend in Mission Valley. It’s free and it’s jam-packed with activities.
  6. Shop around at the Nutcracker Market at Liberty Station all weekend. This annual event by the San Diego Ballet Dance Company will get you in the holiday spirit. Now if only our weather would get the message.
  7. Have a beer. Or two. Or three. San Diego Beer Week ends on Sunday and there are still plenty of fun activities around SD.
  8. Celebrate the wedding at the LGBT Wedding Party on Sunday. This great event by the San Diego History Center at the Junipero Serra Museum is a party for the LGBT community. Explore the Museum while mingling with wedding pros and sipping some cocktails.
  9. Watch some films for the San Diego Asian Film Festival. The Festival runs until the 16th but with so much to see, you better start ASAP!
  10. Explore La Jolla with the La Jolla Holiday Open House on Sunday. Merchants open their doors and celebrate the holidays early with music, prizes and holiday cheer.
