Here are 10 fun things to do in San Diego this weekend (November 23 and 24, 2013):

  1. Focus on food…and wine…and food at the San Diego Wine and Food Festival all weekend. There are some amazing events with celebrity chefs, fitness mavens and more. Plus, who doesn’t want to focus on food and wine all weekend?
  2. Exhibits. Opening this weekend: Nadia Salameh at Spanish Village Art Center (opened Wednesday). Closing this weekend: Circus Rails: Life on a Circus Train at San Diego Model Railroad (ends today!).
  3. Watch the Mother Goose Parade in El Cajon on Sunday. Yes, it’s happening and it’s a great annual family event in East County for Thanksgiving.
  4. Walk around the Encinitas Fall Festival on Sunday. There will be a lot there: music, food, dance, a kid zone, a dog zone and more than 450 booths to enjoy.
  5. Celebrate a 300th birthday party! It’s Father Junipero Serra’s birthday and the San Diego History Center is celebrating with a 300th birthday party. Join them on Sunday at the Junipero Serra Museum.
  6. Watch some flicks at the San Diego American Indian Film Festival today and tomorrow. See some great works by filmmakers, producers, actors and more throughout Indian Country. CSU San Marcos hosts most of the Festival.
  7. Run the Fit Foodie 5K Saturday morning by the San Diego waterfront. One of the many cool events of the San Diego Wine and Food Festival. We’re doing it! Join us!
  8. Win money and prizes at the 30th Anniversary Party at Sycuan Casino on Saturday. Cool activities and more opportunities to win await you.
  9. Buy some cool things at the Goblin Market all weekend. This alternative craft fair looks so cool and it’s happening in Mission Valley.
  10. Go ice skating. The Sycuan Ice Skating Rink at Horton Plaza is open (as of yesterday) and the winter weather makes it a must do for this weekend.
