Dia de los Muertos in San Diego. #skulls #cool

Here are 10 fun things to do in San Diego this weekend (November 2 and 3, 2013):

  1. Celebrate Dia de los Muertos today and tomorrow! Here are a couple ideas: Old Town’s Dia de los Muertos, Centro Cultural de la Raza’s Dia de los Muertos, Muertos Festival in Sherman Heights.
  2. Exhibits. Opening this weekend: C is for… at Visions Art Museum, Recent Acquisitions at Visions Art Museum, Birds at Visions Art Museum, Arriving from the End at Japanese Friendship Garden, and Noah Doely: By the Light at The San Diego Museum of Art. Closing this weekend: The Kincade Chronicles at La Jolla Athenaeum, Mary Ellen Long: ROOTS at La Jolla Athenaeum, Liza Lou: Color Field at Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego: Downtown, and Art Glass of San Diego at Spanish Village Art Center (closes Monday).
  3. Drink up at the San Diego Beer Festival. The Festival starts today and goes on until the 10th with many activities happening around SD. Try the San Diego Brewers Guild Festival today and tomorrow.
  4. Enjoy the season with Fall Back 2013 in the Gaslamp on Saturday. Kids especially get amazing deals and activities (like free food!).
  5. Walk around the Carlsbad Village Faire on Saturday. If you like street fairs, this is a dandy: it’s the largest single day street fair in the US. Go early!
  6. Play in the garden for the 2013 Fall Plantstravaganza at The Water Conservation Garden. Demos, designers, exhibits and shopping await.
  7. Indulge in your medieval side at the Escondido Renaissance Faire all weekend. We know you like knights, royals and stage shows.
  8. Visit some museums with the Bank of America Museums on Us Program. This weekend, visit Birch Aquarium, SDMA and/or MOPA for free…just present your B of A card to the front desk.
  9. See The Last Goodbye at The Old Globe before it gives its last goodbye! We saw it the other day and it was wonderful (check the blog later for a review!). Closing day is Sunday so grab your tickets now.
  10. Join in the fun at the International Cottages and their Lawn Program: HPR Sampler on Sunday. This is the last Lawn Program of the year so go!
