Here are 10 fun things to do in San Diego this weekend (November 16 and 17, 2013):

  1. Catch some films at the San Diego Arab Film Festival all weekend. MOPA hosts this cool cultural festival with a reception tonight.
  2. Exhibits. Opening this weekend: Elements: Three Perspectives on Nature at Mission Trails Regional Park, Behind the Glamour: The Women Who Built The Industry 1920-1940 at Women’s Museum of California, and Urban Entropy: James Enos at Oceanside Museum of Art. Closing this weekend: Fallbrook Art Association’s Judged Show at Fallbrook Art Center, The Art of Photography Show at San Diego Art Institute, and Garden of the Imagination 2 at Spanish Village Art Center.
  3. Help put up the Christmas tree at The Old Globe on Sunday! Yes, it’s that time of year: The Old Globe’s Grinch themed tree is going up Sunday evening and you can go watch. See Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas while you’re at it…opening night is on Saturday!
  4. Check out the San Diego Asian Film Festival. This Festival ends tomorrow so be sure to check out a few more films today and tomorrow.
  5. Support a good cause at the Susan G. Komen 3-Day San Diego all weekend. Men, women and children are walking 60 miles in 3 days to help raise funds and awareness to cure breast cancer. Go cheer on the crowd!
  6. Pick up some antiques at the Del Mar Antique Show and Sale. The show lasts all weekend at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and you even have the chance to get your own pieces appraised.
  7. Bring your kids to the 2013 Performing Arts College Fair in Balboa Park on Saturday. Learn about performing arts programs around the US.
  8. Buy some vintage items at the San Diego Vintage Flea Market on Sunday. The shindig happens at Birch North Park Theater is sure to get you some neat finds!
  9. Spend some time at Birch Aquarium at Scripps on Saturday for SEA Days: Kelp Kornucopia. Meet experts, watch shows and participate in hands on activities with sea life. If you couldn’t figure it out already, this is a great activity for kids!
  10. Take part in the 2013 San Diego Movember Moustache Ride on Saturday. It starts in Balboa Park and ends at the Thorn Street Brewery. Go for the community, the ride, the beer and the good cause.
