10 Things To Do This Weekend in San Diego (10/5-10/6)

Things to do in San Diego like the Pugtoberfest! #sandiego

Here are 10 fun things to do in San Diego this weekend (October 5 and 6, 2013):

  1. Celebrate fall in style at La Mesa’s Oktoberfest all weekend. We love the food, festivities and fun. Also, the beer.
  2. Exhibits. Opening this weekend: Please Be Seated at Mingei International Museum, OMA Art Auction Exhibit at Oceanside Museum of Art and OMA in Del Mar at Oceanside Museum of Art. Closing this weekend: Tony Delap at Oceanside Museum of Art and Visual Translations at Spanish Village Art Center (Monday).
  3. Nerd it out at the San Diego Comic Fest all weekend. If you want an intimate version of Comic Con (and who doesn’t…), you must go at least one of the days to this convention.
  4. See some planes at the Miramar Air Show all weekend. Fly overs, drag races, a 5k and more are on the schedule in Miramar.
  5. Pick some apples at the Julian Apple Days This weekend is usually the last good weekend to visit Julian if your intent is to pick your own. If you’re just going for the pie, any weekend is a good excuse!
  6. Walk around the Old Town Art Festival all weekend. The festival will cover San Diego Avenue with art, artists, food, drinks and activities.
  7. Rock the beach on Saturday with the Pacific BeachFest. Music, surf and entertainment will rule the area.
  8. Buy some bling at the San Diego Gem Faire. The event features demos all weekend at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
  9. View the films at the San Diego Film Festival. The festival has been happening all week. There were 100 films on the schedule and still plenty to see all weekend.
  10. Celebrate some more Oktoberfest events this weekend: Pugtoberfest 2013, El Cajon Oktoberfest and ArtOberfest Walkabout.
