15 Unique Wedding Venues in San Diego

Unique Wedding Locations in San Diego from The Wanderer Guides Blog!

Weddings are a lot of fun!  That’s why one half of The Wanderer Guides worked in the wedding industry for 2 years and loved it.  It’s also why we know so much about fun spots in San Diego to get married.  Anyone can wed in the banquet hall or the chapel near the in-laws, but imagine the great photos and memories from this list of unique wedding venues…can you picture yourself there?

  1. USS Midway.  I had my prom here so I feel like I’m the spokeswoman for special events at this venue!
  2. Petco Park.  At least one of the engaged couple has to think a baseball field wedding would be awesome.
  3. Birch North Park Theatre.  Every bride likes to take center stage…make it a literal stage too!
  4. Temecula Valley Wineries.  You don’t have to go to Italy (or Napa Valley) to wed in a vineyard.
  5. Bahia Sternwheeler.  Pretend you’re on a riverboat in New Orleans for your wedding.
  6. San Diego Zoo or Safari Park.  Doesn’t this sound like so much fun?
  7. Mission San Diego.  Have your wedding amidst the history of early San Diego.
  8. Del Mar Turf Club.  Bing Crosby’s stomping grounds are a great place to go for your wedding.  It was my cousin and her husband’s go-to spot (above!).
  9. San Diego Botanic Garden.  Gardens are gorgeous places for weddings.  The SDBG is a great one.
  10. Mount Helix.  I’ve gone to many plays on top of Mt. Helix.  This a a GREAT location for events.
  11. Star of India.  I love boats.  The Star of India is the oldest active sailboat in the world and she’s kind of a big deal…
  12. Private Estate.  Have your wedding on a private estate!
  13. Museums.  There are a lot of them in San Diego and most will host your wedding.  Check out MCASD’s wedding page for some ideas.
  14. Karl Strauss Brewery.  How great would this be?  If you love breweries, this is a must.
  15. Birch Aquarium.  Host your wedding alongside fish, sharks and other marine life.
